Ho, 10906/23.
Dear Grindle,
With reference to my letter of the 1st March and your reply of the 14th March, a to the transactions of the firm of Nemasee of Hong Kong, and the desirability of the Goverment of Hong Kong obtaining powers of search similar to those proposed in the British Dangerous Drugs Bill of this session, I am writing to let you know the Bill has now passed both Houses and should receive the Royal Assent this afternoon. I enclose a copy of the Bill in its final shape. Besides the new powers of search there are other provisions in the Bill which might well be considered by the Hong Kong Government, e.g. the provision in section 2(1)(d) as to aiding abetting or procuring the commission of offences outside
Great Britain.
Tour sincerely,
male Delevigne
Sir Gilbert Grindle, K.C.M.G.... C.B.
